چکیده
This study presented the first recorded of banded garden spider Argiope trifasciata and described for time in Baghdad city, Iraq. The specimens were collected from Al-Rashidiya sub-district north city on 26/ November/ 2021 (7:00 am- 6:00 pm) fruit gardens (orange apricot trees) agriculture lands (palm trees, crops wheat vegetables). "Argiope trifasciata" species is a member orb-weaving genus. It belongs to Araniedae family, widespread worldwide, has four pairs long legs covered with spines eight eyes arranged two rows. females spiders are yellow silvery shiny hairs carapace that relatively low. abdomen usually oval elongated pale black stripes. yellowish brown dark rings.

Sperm Dynamics in Spiders (Araneae): Ultrastructural Analysis of the Sperm Activation Process in the Garden Spider Argiope bruennichi (Scopoli, 1772)
Storage of sperm inside the female genital tract is an integral phase of reproduction in many animal species. The sperm storage site constitutes the arena for sperm activation, sperm competition and female sperm choice. Consequently, to understand animal mating systems information on the processes that occur from sperm transfer to fertilization is required. Here, we focus on sperm activation in...
متن کاملProtein composition correlates with the mechanical properties of spider ( Argiope trifasciata ) dragline silk.
We investigated the natural variation in silk composition and mechanical performance of the orb-weaving spider Argiope trifasciata at multiple spatial and temporal scales in order to assess how protein composition contributes to the remarkable material properties of spider dragline silk. Major ampullate silk in orb-weaving spiders consists predominantly of two proteins (MaSp1 and MaSp2) with di...
متن کاملSilken toolkits: biomechanics of silk fibers spun by the orb web spider Argiope argentata (Fabricius 1775).
Orb-weaving spiders spin five fibrous silks from differentiated glands that contain unique sets of proteins. Despite diverse ecological functions, the mechanical properties of most of these silks are not well characterized. Here, we quantify the mechanical performance of this toolkit of silks for the silver garden spider Argiope argentata. Four silks exhibit viscoelastic behaviour typical of po...
متن کاملFirst Record of HAdV-D20 Among Keratoconjunctivitis Patients in Iraq
Background: Human Adenovirus species D (HAdV-D) was common human viral pathogen especially in eye infection, consists of several types of which HAdV-D8, -D19 and –D37 were common in eye infection. This study includes detection of HAdV-D types implicated in conjunctivitis based on L2 (Penton protein) gene similarity. Methods: Conjunctival swabs were collected from Keratoconjunctivitis patient...

loxosceles rufescens , commonly known as the mediterranean recluse or mediterranean fiddle-back spider is recorded from iran for the first time. the genus loxosceles contains 103 accepted species, two of them (including l. rufescens ) are cosmopolitan. all loxosceles species tested so far possess necrotic venoms, which is a unique characteristic among the order araneae. considering this charact...
